Convention week is exactly when downtown is worst
The weeks the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in the Seaport and the Hynes in Back Bay are full are the same weeks every room near them is booked and priced to match. That is not bad luck. That is the business model of a convention hotel.
Staying outside that radius takes you out of the surge. You drive in, park free at the end of the day, and come back to an apartment rather than a room.
If you are travelling with colleagues, several of our buildings hold more than one apartment — so a team can share an address instead of scattering across a hotel floor, and you book once instead of four times.
What a Boston convention trip needs that a hotel room lacks
A desk you can actually work at, Wi-Fi that is not shared with a conference hall, and a kitchen for the nights when the last thing you want is another restaurant meal.
In-unit laundry matters more than people expect on a trade show trip — three days standing on a stand goes through shirts.
And if the show runs long, you are not repacking. Our apartments take bookings of up to 27 nights.
Which apartment suits which trip
Most convention trips are one or two people, and a one-bedroom is the right answer — a proper bedroom, a kitchen, a table to work at, and nobody else's noise through the wall.
Bring a team and the three-bedrooms make more sense than three hotel rooms: everyone gets a bed, you share one kitchen and one bill, and the evening conversation happens in a living room instead of a hotel bar.
If the show runs into a second week, the kitchen and the in-unit laundry are what stop it feeling like a long stay. Bookings run up to 27 nights.

I needed a place to stay while I was in Boston for a business show. This was perfect and I felt safe in the neighborhood. Right off a main road but not noisy at all.— verified guest review
Common questions
- Can I book a long stay for a conference or a work placement?
- Anything from a single night up to 27 nights. Longer stays are common for medical treatment and work placements, and the nightly rate drops as the stay gets longer.
- Is there somewhere to work and do laundry?
- Yes. Every apartment has a full kitchen and in-unit laundry, and you have the whole place to yourself rather than working from a hotel bed.
- Is there a booking fee?
- No. Booking direct at sparekeysstay.com carries no booking fee, and the code BOOKDIRECT takes 20% off. That is the whole reason the direct site exists.
