The trouble with hotel rooms for a wedding party
A wedding weekend splits people up at exactly the moment they want to be together. Everyone books their own room, the rooms land on different floors, and there is nowhere to sit but a bed or a lobby.
Several of our buildings hold more than one apartment. 7 Bernard and 9 Bernard each have two. 17 Ellis has four, and 19 Ellis has five. A wedding party can take the whole address — each family with its own kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms, everyone behind the same front door.
Our largest apartment, 42 Glenway, sleeps ten on its own.
Getting ready, and the morning after
The getting-ready hours are the ones a hotel room handles worst. You need mirrors, floor space, somewhere to hang dresses, and a kitchen table for whoever is doing hair and makeup. A four-bedroom apartment with two and a half bathrooms does that. A double room does not.
Afterwards there is a driveway instead of a valet queue, a washer and dryer for whatever happened to the suits, and a kitchen for the morning when nobody wants to face a restaurant.
We are outside the downtown core, and that is the trade — you drive or ride in for the ceremony. In return the whole party fits under one roof for what a handful of downtown rooms would have cost.

This is the part worth checking before you book anything else. Two of our addresses can take a wedding party on their own — 17 Ellis has four apartments and 19 Ellis has five, all behind the same door.
Availability decides what is actually possible, so ask early. Wedding dates are known a year out, and so are ours.

Common questions
- Can the wedding party share one apartment?
- The whole apartment, to yourself. Your own front door, your own kitchen, your own laundry - no shared hallways, no front desk, nobody else in the property.
- Is there free parking for guests?
- Yes. Every apartment has its own free off-street parking, so you are not paying a garage on top of the stay and you are not circling for a space when you arrive.
- What are check-in and checkout times?
- Check-in is 3pm and checkout is 10am as standard, with self check-in so there is no meeting anyone at a set hour. On a same-day booking tell us what you need and we will work with it.
